Relaxation from the dawn of time. In prehistoric times the basin of Baza was filled by a huge blue lake where Mammoths and Rhinoceroses grazed under the hungry eyes of primitive European man. Their remains & fossils can be admired nowadays at the museum nearby in Orce.
Until 40 years ago this savage, beautiful forgotten part of the provence of Granada was full of small hamlets carved into the hills around the barren lands formed by the drying out of the old lake.
Today restored to its original splendour at one of those Hamlets, where moors, plaster miners and subsistence farmers have successively sought refuge.
We can offer you a magnificent and unforgettable voyage back to the depths of time in breathtakingly beautiful accommodation formed by this unique way of life.
Submerging yourself in this extraordinary land, you can enjoy some of your sweetest moments in Spain, the warmth and tenderness of our Hammam, our tasty Arab-Andalucian dishes as well as the magic of the Andalucian night of your dreams…..
We enjoyed a great night here. Luc made us very welcome.
Our room was unique and cosy, particularly when we lit our log fire
I would recommend everyone to experience at least one night in a cave. If you have friends and family, there are even private caves with multiple bedrooms!
Luc was a pleasant host, ensured he was available for my early am arrival, and provided useful information on the area.
The cave room (Cueva Paraiso, which was an apt name) was beautiful and quirky, and very spacious.
The complex itself even had a sauna, only shared by 2 cave rooms – just perfect.
This place is truly wonderful. First there are the rooms: you can either stay in an original cave dwelling, or you can get a cave-like room, and if you are a couple ask for the honeymoon suite with the ladder to the skylight right next to your bed (there is a little bench there, just for two), really special! The restaurant serves good food, and the prices are very reasonable. There is a Haman bath that is out of this world, you must try it. For the children, there are tunnels which lead out of the restaurant to a playroom, my daughter flipped when she saw this! And now there is a pool. Not much shade so bring sunscreen. Stars at night are amazing. Go!
